🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-27-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida "Fishing over the weekend was obviously challenging due to the weather, but there have been some bright spots. There are still plenty of fish in the Indian River, and while sight fishing may get a bit tougher due to runoff, the activity around culverts and the relief canals has already concentrated some fish, mostly Snook and baby Tarpon. DOA CALs, Hogy Paddle Tails, and plugs have all accounted for good catches when they’re flowing. Seatrout continue to be active, and with the overcast conditions have been taking topwater plugs later in the day than usual. Surf fishing has been rough and weedy, but the weed started to dissipate this morning and the water is starting to clear, so fishing should improve shortly. Look for Snook and Spanish Mackerel to return to the beaches as soon as the water clears a bit more. Spoons, plugs, and soft plastic paddle tails should provide plenty of activity. Offshore has been fairly silent with the tough weather, but there have been Dolphin intermittently , The inlets and bridges continue to produce Snook, with this week being the last chance for a keeper for a while. Tarpon are starting to show up early and late in the inlet as well. Good luck out there."

🎣 Daytona Beach Shores’ Sunglow Pier enjoys fishing monopoly 🐟 "While Flagler remains shuttered, 25 miles to the south Sunglow is teeming with customers. “People are wanting to get out and about,” Zona said. “People want to get out in the fresh air and sunshine. We have been quite busy.” Sunglow, which is home to Crabby Joe’s restaurant, opens at 7 a.m. and there are generally a handful of anglers ready to rush the gate. The pier closes at 9 p.m. It costs $7 to fish from Sunglow, which is privately owned by Blickman Properties Inc. “But that’s all day,” Zona said. “People will come up, go fishing, leave to go swimming or walk on the beach then come back and fish some more.” Zona said anglers are self-distancing from each other. The majority of fishermen don’t wear masks. Newsom said the Flagler Pier opens again it likely won’t require anglers to wear masks “because of the wind.” But the pier remains closed until further notice."

🎣 FISHING REPORT 🐟 ICW slow: Local reefs worse "The Atlantic: The county pier is open for business again. Catches there seem to be the summer tale over the past few years of a dearth of decent whiting and plenty of rays, baby sharks, and tiny drum. The pompano bite is north of us now. We are getting a thin run of under-slot pomps, but that will end soon enough. I wasn’t able to find any reports from the local reefs and wrecks. That’s probably due to both the weather and the lack of bait out there — hence the lack of predators."

🎣 Jacksonville Fishing Report 🐟 Mediocrity in Mayport "in this week’s Jacksonville Fishing Report, conditions have been far from ideal, but anglers are still catching redfish inshore and kingfish at the nearshore wrecks. I’ll stop short of saying the fishing stunk this week - after all, plenty of people caught fish - but the bite has been a little disappointing. After weeks of red hot fishing at the nearshore wrecks, it sounds like the bite has gotten stale. There’s still a decent kingfish bite out there, although bait scarcity and wind have been impediments. Capt. Kris Kell said he’s jigging up live bait on some of the wrecks with sabiki rigs, and those baits produced a good bite of kings when the weather finally let the mosquito fleet fish offshore on Sunday. My buddy William “Big Boy” Goodling didn’t bother finding live bait and had the kings fired up on good ol’ fashioned ballyhoo. When the wind was blowing too hard to fish offshore, Kell said the redfish bite at the jetties was good. If you can’t find finger mullet, he said shrimp on a jighead - or even frozen cigar minnows - works fine in a pitch."

🎣 Juno Bait Fishing Report 🐟 Weekend Fishing Outlook (5/29-5/31/2020)
SURF/PIER: The Juno Beach Pier has had pretty solid snook action this week.  The snook have been biting live baits, dead sardines on bottom, as well as swimbaits early in the morning.  Spanish Mackerel action has also been good at the pier, with white crappie jigs being the best lure choice.  Still a fair number of late season pompano around, especially as you travel a little farther north."

🎣 FLORIDA TODAY fishing report 🐟 Snook season closes, but dolphin and snapper are biting "Snook season is closing to harvest, but dolphin, snapper and redfish action is good.

🎣 May 29 fishing report from Byron Stout 🐟  The weekend outlook for anglers could hardly be better, with light winds, strong tides, and excellent solunar periods predicted for fishing. "LAKE OKEECHOBEE: Brad Lytle of Roland Martin Marine Center in Clewiston reports good bluegill fishing with crickets and Beetlespin lures, although the fish have moved into deeper water between bedding sessions. Fishing outside of the vegetation lines starting at Tin House Cove on the northwestern shore, and circling counter-clockwise along Observation Shoal around to the West Wall and Ritta Island has been most productive. Bass have been lurking in the areas where bluegills have been most productive, with dog-walking topwater baits and frogs hot in early morning, and Senkos and Speed Worms in watermelon and junebug better as the sun gets up. Swimbaits by Gambler (Big EZ Lane Toads) and Reaction Innovations (Houdini Skinny Dippers) also have been hot when rigged with 1/8-ounce belly hooks."

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-18-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida "Good Morning, Offshore over the weekend not many people got out Saturday but a few fished yesterday and some nice dolphin where reported in 150 to 200ft to the south off the power plant with a scattered sail around. The bottom fishing should get good with some nice snapper around with a scattered around grouper. Its looking like the weather the next few days should be ok to get offshore for at least a half day before the storms move in. Inshore the snook bite has been good with live bait around the bridges and in the inlet with a few big guys around. The trout bite has been steady with a few big fish around to the north around Vero shore and the Moorings flats top water has produced the best around first light. The snapper fishing has been good around the bridges and on the channel edges with live white baits and shrimp."

🎣 Week of May 18 Sebastian Inlet 🐟 Snook, Reds, Bluefish and Pompano "As you head back out to Sebastian Inlet State Park to enjoy world-class fishing, we hear there has been decent action on the North Jetty.  Tommy from Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle tells us anglers are bringing Snook, Redfish, Bluefish and Pompano over the rails. You’ve got a few more weeks to catch Snook before the season closes for June, July and August. Get your live shrimp to target Snook and Redfish at Tommy’s and support your local small business! Best to use spoons for Bluefish and clams for targeting Pompano. Tommy said there has also been lots of smaller pan fish like Spottail Pinfish, Margates and Sheepshead hanging around.  You may want to try the South Jetty and catwalks too, and please help our friends and Rangers at Sebastian Inlet State Park by maintaining social distance and following all posted rules.  For your convenience on the North Jetty, distances of 6 feet have been marked off."

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-20-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida "Good morning all. With a long weekend ahead, hope everyone gets a chance to hit the water. Snook fishing in the inlets has been good, particularly on live bait, with Sebastian getting the nod as top producer of late. Surf fishing has produced plenty of Spanish Mackerel on small spoons, flies, and jigs, and some decent Snook catches as well on soft plastics, but few Pompano. Nearshore there have been schools of big Jack Crevalle and a few Tarpon to stretch your string, as well as Spanish Mackerel. Offshore, the Mangrove Snapper bite has been quite good in 60 to 80 feet of water, and Dolphin fishing in 180 to 200 feet of water has been hit and miss. Inshore, Snook fishing along the flats and shorelines has been quite good, with some bigger specimens falling for Pilchards. With the continued clear water conditions, sight fishing for Redfish has been steady as well. Seatrout have been active early on top water plugs, while soft plastics have been the most effective during brighter times. Good luck out there, and stay safe."

🎣 South Florida Weekly Fishing Report 🐟 May 21, 2020 "Snook and tarpon are still cruising through the troughs as well in those areas. Best bet for the snook is still to use a small croaker. Also, off of the beaches in the Jensen Beach area have been some bluefish and Spanish mackerel. Throwing a shiny spoon has been working. In the St. Lucie and Indian Rivers anglers fishing from the bridges are catching snook, some black drum, sheepshead and a few flounder on the flats off the Jensen Causeway. Most are being caught using shrimp on a jighead during the outgoing tide. Snook are also being taken during the incoming tide using live pilchards as well as a night using Flair Hawk jigs. Anglers working the inside of the Lake Worth Inlet are having a blast catching tarpon, snook and jack crevalle. All three are being caught using live pilchards on light tackle."

🎣 Fishing Report 🐟 Big bass caught in St. Johns, Tomoka rivers "SURF, PIERS: Gene Lytwyn at The Fishin’ Hole said the surf has been good to anglers in recent days. “We’ve seen surf fisherman finding pompano and whiting again,” he said. “Also some are scoring on bluefish and a few bonnethead sharks. Surf fishing should improve over the next few days as the murky water settles out to clear conditions. To the north Capt. Mike Vickers Jr. (hammockbaitandtackle.com) said Flagler surfcasters are catching redfish and black drum. “There are still reports of pompano and plenty of whiting being caught,” he added.”

🎣 ST AUGUSTINE FISHING REPORT 🐟 Flounder bulking up "Surf fishing has been real tough lately. I have never seen such a dearth of whiting. They’ve just disappeared. I don’t think there’s a huge commercial catch of them, so I’m stumped at their disappearance locally. Some point to beach renourishment as the culprit, but I doubt that. The last of the pompano are moving through on their way north. Surf temperatures are at their maximum comfort level here."

Florida, East Coast, Surf Fishing, Florida Surf Fishing, Fishing, Anglers, Florida Fishing, Fishing Reports, Fish Reports,

🎣 Jacksonville Fishing Report 🐟 Flounder and reds inshore; anglers eye the ocean as wind lays down  "In this week’s Jacksonville Fishing Report, we discuss the flounder and redfish bite in the St. Johns River and the possibility that the ocean could reopen in time for the long weekend to allow anglers to target kingfish, mahi and grouper. Last week’s big blow kept the fleet inshore, where the flounder and redfish reports have been a mixed bag of great and mediocre. The wind is trying to lay down in time for the long weekend, and everyone is licking their chops to get back to the ocean to catch kingfish nearshore and troll for mahi in the bluewater over the three day weekend. However, a the former Tropical Storm known as Arthur, which is traveling back south from far offshore of the Carolinas, will be pumping out ground swell, making for considerable, albeit spaced out, seas. (And some fun surf starting Thursday.) Although the beach is again navigable after last week’s weather, the pogie pods that were there before the ocean closed last week are nowhere to be found. The world is a little short on optimism these days, so I say you should make plans to brave the crowds and fish. Those with enough boat and the sea legs to handle some swell are making plans to go deep as we speak. If you want to stay close, there should be plenty of action between the jetties and backcountry. And don’t forget the surf: it hasn’t turned into a bathtub yet, which means it’s probably worth checking for whiting and pompano."

🎣 Juno Bait Memorial Day Weekend Fishing Outlook (5/22-5/24/2020) 🐟 "SURF/PIER-  Reports have been a bit slower than expected from the Juno Beach Pier and local beaches this week as anglers hit the boards and sand after a two month break. Calm clear conditions (Monday-Wed Morning) and now a building swell for a few days will further complicate getting the reports dialed in. The snook are starting to show up on the beach, and at the pier. The water temp is still a bit cool, so the snook are not fired up on the lures just yet. On the pier live baits (which have been a bit tough to come by) and dead sardines have been the ticket for the snook. Lots of glass minnows on the beach over the past few days, with a decent number of Spanish Mackerel following along with them. Tarpon have been along the beach in goods numbers as well.  The tarpon for the most part have been out of range from shore bound anglers. The Jupiter Inlet has had a few snook around, along with a good number of moonfish.  Not much to report on the pompano locally this week, but reports of fish up in Martin County and farther north continue to come in. FishBites and sand fleas remain the bait of choice for the pompano."

🎣 May 22 fishing report from Byron Stout 🐟 "With regrets, it's my duty to report that if you haven't been fishing, you don't know what you're missing. But it's been good. With regrets, it's my duty to report that if you haven't been fishing, you don't know what you're missing. But it's been good. There just is no better time to fish in Southwest Florida waters, which of course are famed, and rightly so. Offshore anglers are hooking up with permit and blackfin tuna, sometimes within sight of land, and the usual suspects have been biting very well on the bottom."

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-11-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida  "Good Morning, Offshore over the weekend has a few nice dolphin around in 120 to 200ft with a few sail mixed in. The snapper bite has been good with a few nice mangroves around with the bigger fish coming on live bait. The snapper bite on the beach has been good to with a few nice muttons in 15 to 20ft of water. It looks like the wind will stick around for a few days and hopefully get better for the weekend. Inshore the trout bite has been good to the south with a few nice fish around bear point to the power plant soft baits and top waters have produced the best at first light and right before sunset. The snook bite has been hit or miss in the inlet and bridges with a few nice fish around on live bait. There has been a few reds to the north around Vero shores with a few scattered snook around."

Jetty Park reopens to annual passholders with new rules

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-13-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida "Good morning all, hope you’re all staying safe and hopefully hitting the water a bit. The Indian River has remained remarkably clear for this time of year, making sight fishing opportunities more abundant, but at the same time making it a bit harder to fool them. Good numbers of Redfish are around, both on shorelines and on the flats, taking soft plastics and live bait. Some of the bigger Snook have continued to head towards the beaches, but there are still plenty of quality fish around on the flats. Seatrout numbers are also holding up well, on the flats and docks, taking a variety of things such as soft plastics and even topwater plugs. Snook fishing in the surf was heating up before the east winds made that difficult, but once things die down a bit that should resume, along with the large Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish that have been prevalent. Offshore has been pretty much unfishable of late, and won’t calm down for days. Fort Pierce Inlet has been good for Snook and large Jack Crevalle, with an abundance of Pilchards around, with higher tide being best. Have fun out there."

🎣 Jacksonville Fishing Report 🐟 Fishing is great Too bad the wind is blowing "In this week’s Jacksonville Fishing Report, strong winds will keep anglers away from the hot bite happening on the nearshore wrecks out of Mayport. Finding clean water is a must when surf fishing. And even though the wind has blowing hard all week, the northeast wind has kept the water clean. Spencer Brogden, an incredibly knowledgeable surf angler, said there have been plenty of nice pompano and bull whiting in the surf around Jacksonville Beach, and fishing has been best around the low tide. He said trout and black drum are scattered in the surf, and there’s plenty of sand fleas on the beach to save you a trip to the bait shop. The surf will be rough this weekend, so you should bring some sputnik weights with you to keep your baits pinned down if you decide to fish."

🎣 South Florida Weekly Fishing Report 🐟 May 14, 2020 "Inshore fishing: Along the beaches in the Jensen area, the whiting and croaker bite is still good. Fishbites, pieces of shrimp and clam strips, fished in the first trough, are working well. There are also good numbers of snook in the first trough and they are being taken on live croakers or swim baits. Tarpon are still cruising the beaches chasing schools of live pilchards. In the St. Lucie and Indian Rivers anglers are getting trout and snook from the bridges and flounder and redfish up towards the Fort Pierce area. There have been snook at the inlet, the Juno Pier and along the beaches the past week. With those fishing areas currently closed, it’s been anglers working them from boats who have been scoring. With the beaches scheduled to open on Monday, there should be good action for snook by surf anglers. Walking the beach and using a top water plug could produce good results."

🎣 Fishing Report Daytona Beach News Journal 🐟 Fishing Report: Redfish to the north and bluefish everywhere "Bluefish are everywhere and there’s a redfish invasion in Flagler as spring marches toward summer. Surf fishing, piers: The surf is super active right now, according to Capt. Mike Vickers Jr. (hammockbaitandtackle.com). “The surf has been producing a good number of whiting,” he said. “The pompano bite has slowed down but are still being caught along with some black drum. Also in the surf you need to be aware of the tax man (sharks) with the appearance of the pompano and whiting, the sharks have also shown up in numbers. We have seen a few redfish, too.”"

Florida, East Coast, Florida Surf Fishing, Surf Fishing, Florida Fishing, Fishing Reports, Fish Reports, Anglers, Fishing,

🎣 FISHING REPORT ST AUGUSTINE 🐟 Great fishing, but nasty weather on tap "The Atlantic: The mahi bite everyone’s been waiting on is happening. “Better late than never” seems apropos. Most of the boats trolling deep are icing down at least double digits of them and most are gaffer size. They’re being found inside and outside the ledge. The sailfish bite is picking up, or more likely there are just more being caught because more anglers are chasing the mahi. Jodi Lynn charters reports they’ve released at least one spindlebeak every trip out this week. The wahoo remain scattered and the catches of blackfin tuna are down, but probably because dolphin-chasers are trying to get away from them. Some kingfish have moved onto the local reefs and wrecks but not in any good numbers or size. Surf fishing has remained slow. But there were a couple of reports of a resurgence of pompano on the southern beaches. Others say not, but as soon as I finish this thing, I’m fixing to see."

🎣 Juno Bait Weekend Fishing Outlook 🐟 (5/15-5/17/2020) "SURF/PIER:   Up to the north the pompano are still biting, but action is definitely beginning to slow on them.  Sandfleas, clams, and FishBItes remain the bait of choice for the pomps.  Croaker are biting small pieces of shrimp in the first trough.  Snook are starting to get out on the beach a bit more, along with the start of the tarpon moving north.  NOt much of a forecast for the beach this weekend, but hopefully we will see some more access open up next week along with a little nicer weather!"

🎣 FLORIDA TODAY fishing report 🐟 Forget offshore fishing, snook season is open for two more weeks  "The heavy surf forecasted this weekend is going to blow out any chance at fishing from the beach. When the winds drop out, expect the whiting fishing to be pretty good. There are still some huge jack crevalle, bluefish, Spanish mackerel and sharks within casting range. Look for the swell to smooth out in a day or two for good surfing."

🎣 May 15 fishing report from Byron Stout 🐟 "Winds howling up to 20 knots this week are expected to abate for the weekend. That's good news across the board for boaters, but if it ain't one thing..." "LAKE OKEECHOBEE: The hot bite on the Big O (as always in May) is the bluegill blitz, according to Roland Martin's Marina in Clewiston. Bedding areas, where bluegills congregate to fan saucers in the sand, are most abundant along Observation Shoal, Ritta Island, and along the lakeside edges of the Rim Canal. For the most meat, dunk crickets with a telescopic carbon fiber pole. For the most fun, cast a black/yellow stripe Beetlespin on ultralight spinning gear. Big bass always is lurking around bluegill beds, where live wild shiners work so well they should be illegal. Speed worms and Senkos in Junebug, black/blue tip, and watermelon red are the hot worms, and white, black-and-blue, and green pumpking swim jigs have been hot along the Shoal, after the morning topwater bite begins to wane."

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-4-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida "Good Morning, Offshore yesterday there was a few good dolphin mixed with a few sails around. The grouper bite was ok over the weekend if you could deal with the ripping current. The kingfish bite has slowed down there is a few nice fish around live bait has worked the best for the big guys. The snapper bite on the beach has been good with some nice muttons and mangroves . Inshore the snook bite has been good on the flats and the bridges with live bait with a few reds around to. The trout bite to the north was good around first light and as the sun is going down late in the after noon. The snapper bite has been good around the bridges to on white baits."

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 5-6-2020 🐟 Stuart Florida   "The beaches have been active with Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, as well as more and more Snook. Spoons and metals are producing most of the Spanish and Bluefish, while soft plastics, bucktail jigs, and plugs are accounting for most of the Snook. Just off the beaches, schools of large Jack Crevalle as well as some Tarpon have been working the schools of mullet and greenies that have been mostly 300 to 400 yards off the beach. The Jack Crevalle will take a variety of things, including topwater plugs, and the Tarpon have been taking Hogy Paddle Tails. Snook fishing in the inlets has been average, with flare jigs and live bait doing most of the business. Offshore, Dolphin fishing has been pretty good out around 300′ of water, and the Kingfish bite in 70′ to 80′ of water has been good as well. For the bottom fishing anglers, the Snapper bite in 60′ of water has been very good as well."

🎣 South Florida Weekly Fishing Report 🐟 May 7, 2020 Palm Beach Post "Inshore fishing: The jetties at the St. Lucie Inlet has had a good bite for redfish the past week using crabs and shrimp. They are also being caught at the area bridges along with flounder. Like redfish, flounder are being taken using crabs and shrimp. Along the St. Lucie Inlet jetties, and out onto the nearby beaches, there has been good action on snook. They are being taken mostly on live pilchards. The season is open until June 1. There are also tarpon along the beaches. Both the snook and tarpon are being caught in the first trough where they are chasing the large amounts of bait that are currently in the area. Also in the first trough, whiting and croaker are being caught on the beaches using sandflea- and bloodworm-flavored Fishbites."

🎣 FISHING REPORT 🐟 Bait shops busier than ever St Augustine "The local reefs and wrecks are holding bait, predominantly cigar minnows. The kingfish began to show up late last week, but have been smallish. The fish up in Mayport are larger. But it should be Katie-bar-the door in another week or so for the mackerel bite. The cobia fishing has slowed considerably, most of the fish moving north. There are plenty of pogies on the beach, more north of the inlet than south. Schools of giant jack crevalle up to 35 pounds are marauding up and down the beach. If you hook one on anything but heavy tackle, pack a lunch. And a few of the guides said they saw their first tarpon of the season busting up the pogy pods this week. Surf fishing has been slow. It’s understandable that the Spring pompano run is petering out here as they migrate north. But I can’t understand where the whiting are which for us is nowhere. It’s worse than I’ve ever seen."

🎣 Juno Bait Fishing Report 🐟 Weekend Fishing Outlook (5/8-5/10/2020)   "SURF/PIER-  Still not much access on the beach locally, but up the coast surf fishing has been good.  Solid pompano bite starting at Hutchison Island and north over the past week.  Sandfleas, clams, and FishBites will be the best bait for the pomps.  Some big jacks cruising the beach this week.  Good number of tarpon moving north over the past week.  Should be about time for the early season snook to start showing up along the beach as well."

🎣 May 8 fishing report from Byron Stout 🐟  "A nice stretch of gentle breezes was just what Southwest Florida anglers needed for pent-up fishing urges, and COVID-19 cabin fever.
Offshore anglers had some heydays on deep wrecks, with yellowtail snappers and more filling fix boxes, when they could get them away from thieving amberjacks. Inshore anglers have been busy exercising tarpon, snook, redfish, and trout. Lake Trafford's crappie continued to bite in limit numbers, and Lake Okeechobee's bluegill and bass also have been on a tear."

🎣 Daytona Beach News Journal Fishing Report 🐟 Offshore rules the week again   "From the Atlantic to the St. Johns, tight lines rule the day. The area is attempting to return to some sense of normalcy. As it does, the fish up and down the coast are starting to bite again. SURF, PIERS: Capt. Mike Vickers Jr. (hammockbaitandtackle.com) said the fishing has been better this past week with beaches opening back up. “We are hearing about pompano, whiting, bluefish and some black drum in the surf being caught on fresh dead shrimp, sandfleas and finger mullet.”

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 🐟 2-27-2020 "Good Morning, Offshore over the weekend the tuna fishing was good with a few nice dolphin mixed in live bait and dead bait both produced well. The kingfish bite has been good in 60 to 80ft with a few nice fish around over 45lbs. The cobia bite has been steady in 60 to 80ft on the bottom with a few snapper mixed in to. Inshore the west wind and clean water slowed the snook bite down hopefully the wind will come around to the north the next few days. The trout and reds have been around Vero shores to the Mornings find the grass and you will find the fish. The snapper bite has been good on the channel edges ."

🎣 White's Tackle Fishing Report 🐟 2-29-2020 "Good morning everyone, hope your getting out on the water. While the Pompano numbers have fallen off, Snook numbers along the beach continue to go up, with some solid fish being caught here and there, with DOA CAL jigs, Hogy paddle tails, and Mirrodines all producing. There are also a good number of Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel around, so be prepared to loose some gear unless you go to a wire leader. The Bluefish and Spanish have been quite happy to take spoons and jigs as well, and even some topwater plugs at times. Fishing in the IRL has remained good, with good water quality pretty easy to find. Seatrout and Redfish have been on the flats in solid numbers, and some larger Snook are still around as well. Live Pilchards have been a safe bet as usual, but plenty of fish falling for soft plastics as well. Fort Pierce Inlet has improved for Snook in the last few days as the water has clouded up a bit due to the west winds, both jigs and live bait working well. Offshore, the Kingfish bite south has been exceptional in 60′ to 80′ of water, mostly on greenies. Snapper fishing has also been quite good, and Grouper season opens May 1st. Good luck out there, and be safe."

🎣 South Florida Weekly Fishing Report 🐟 April 30, 2020 "Inshore Fishing: Along the beaches in the Jensen Beach area, there has been good action for Pompano, Whiting, and Croaker. The Pompano are mostly being caught using sandflea flavored Fishbites and the Whiting and Croaker are being caught in the first trough on frozen shrimp."

🎣 Fishing Report 🐟 Daytona Beach News Journal Catching them here, there and everywhere "SURF, PIERS: “There’s pompano still in the surf,” said Roy Mattson (royssurffishing.com). “The best time to catch them is at low tide. And there is whiting out there, too.” Mattson said anglers on the Sunglow Pier are catching sheepshead in addition to pompano and whiting.” Capt. Mike Vickers Jr. (hammockbaitandtackle.com) said Flagler surfcasters are being rewarded with a steady run of pompano, whiting and bluefish. “Next to the Flagler Pier, I witnessed sheepshead being caught on a steady basis,” he added. The pier proper is closed because of the coronavirus."

🎣 Jacksonville Fishing Report 🐟 New visitors have arrived "In this week’s Jacksonville Fishing Report, local anglers report catching cobia, tuna, and dolphin offshore and redfish, trout and sheepshead near Mayport. Ols friends returned to Mayport over the weekend. Pogie pods are everywhere off the beach, and big schools of big jack crevalle are terrorizing them. Kingfish are cruising the nearshore wrecks. Manta rays have crossed the Duval County line, and they’re even holding a few brown fish. Pompano are in the surf, although they’re not nearly as plentiful as the sting rays, catfish and other warm-water undesirables that make fishing with stinky dead bait during the summer a downright chore."

🎣 ST AUGUSTINE FISHING REPORT 🐟 Still waiting for kings, mahi "Surf fishing has been good if you can find an outgoing tide that coincides with the silly beach regulations. The weird thing is way more pompano are being caught than whiting. The pompano are stretched out from Ormond Beach to Fernandina Beach. A commercial guy caught 35 pompano and one whiting at Little Talbot Wednesday."

🎣 FLORIDA TODAY fishing report 🐟 Grouper season is open May 1 while tuna fishing stays strong "It's time to break out the bottom fishing gear and try to tag a gag grouper, or red. Plus, spearfishers can start stoning hogfish, too. Florida Today. May 1 is finally here — or did it get here quickly since we were locked in? Either way, it's time to break out the heavy duty bottom fishing gear and recall the best deep ledges marked on the fish finder or well-worn chart. Surf Fishing: The pompano run may well be in the rear view mirror, but there is still plenty of fun to be had at the beach. Big jacks up to 30 pounds can be caught by surf casters heaving large topwater plugs and spoons. Spanish mackerel, bluefish and small sharks are also going to pile on to some of these offerings."

🎣 Juno Bait Fishing Report 🐟 Weekend Fishing Outlook (5/1-5/3/2020)  "SURF/PIER: Surf reports up to the north have been very good.  Pompano fishing has been very good, with some nice size fish in the mix  Sandfleas, clams, and FishBItes have all been working well for the pompano.  Croakers and whiting have been biting good on small pieces of shrimp.  Some nice schools of jacks cruising around to test your tackle.  Snook are starting to show up a little bit on the beach.  Some tarpon cruising the beach as well."
